Since you have been through the process, how does the costs compare to a conventional divorce? In this economy every penny is getting more important. Does it save money?

Since most lawyers are only looking our for their client’s interests doesn’t mediation make more sense? Seems like it protects all parties involved much better than a divorce by trial.

You were lucky to find a lawyer willing to talk with your wife. My experience was awful, both attorneys fighting tooth and nail over nothing and the bills continuously climbing. I w9ish I had known about mediation before starting my divorce.

It is also a great way to avoid the huge expense involved with two lawyers fighting it out over who gets Aunt Martha’s gray vase. With today’s economy anything that saves money while helping you has to be good.

I think it is a very good alternative. If you have ever seen a divorce trial you will know how cold and harmful they can be. Dealing with just one person definately is less embarrassing than a courtroom full of strangers.
