Knowing Your Employee’s History is Crucial

I was out to lunch with a friend the other day who owns her own business and we were discussing my interest in getting a business of my own too. We got on the subject of hiring people and about the trust you really need to be able to put into a person’s character to entrust your own company and your business and indeed your very livelihood into the hands of a stranger. At this, my friend emphasized that background checks and employment screening are some of the background information solutions that are absolutely crucial and necessary and completely indispensable, especially to a company just trying to get off its feet.

She came to realize after an employee that she had thought she could trust because he seemed so honest that she felt she did not have to check up on his history nearly ran her business into the ground, that criminals are truly professionals at crime. It was apparent soon enough and with devastating effect that all the good behavior he had shown on the job was actually nothing but an act, put in place to get him into a position of power where he could really wreak havoc and collect benefits for himself.
