Great Day at Work

One of the scariest times of my life was when I moved over to being a commissioned sales clerk. I was working at a mobility shop that sold such things as stair lifts, pride lift chairs and other items to help people get around better. I had been working there for three years before my boss asked if I wanted to work on commission, and his proposal made sense to me, but I had to talk to my wife first.
At the time, we were expecting our third child and truth be told, we were a little worried about giving up our steady paycheck. But my boss was nice enough to give me a spreadsheet detailing the sales that I was responsible for over the last year, and he figured out what kind of commission I would have been paid. Looking at the final result, I would have made three times what I had actually brought home for the year, so we decided to try it out.
It ended up being a very good decision, and as an example, I made $500 commission today on just four sales. Our standard of living has certainly improved, and it looks like we will be able to pay off our house by next year, a full twenty years early. Becoming a commissioned salesperson was one of the best decisions that we have ever made.
