I love handing out candy each year for Halloween and seeing the cute, and sometimes scary, costumes that the kids wear.  It seems to me that each year the costumes get more elaborate and impressive. Of course each year you get the usually princesses, vampires, witches and super heroes, but even these standards are more intricately done. I have to say I love when a family arrives at my door and everyone is in some kind of costume.  Older kids can go out trick or treating by themselves, usually in groups, and don’t need the close supervision younger kids require.  I love seeing all the adorable infant Halloween costumes and I get a kick when the parents are also dressed up with the kids.   It seems to make it more enjoyable for the kids, too.  And there are some great couples costumes out there to choose from.  Having all of the costumes go together is pretty cool and makes Halloween even more fun.  Last year a couple came dressed as Ghost Busters and their toddles was in a ghost costume.

And if you don’t have kids and stay home and hand out treats like I do, you can still get into the Halloween fun.  I like to throw on a wig or some make up and dress up.  I also have a dog that loves children, so each year I pull out one of her pet costumes and dress her up.
