Though wealth and health are important in one’s life, I think that family is the most important.  For me, I really didn’t realize that until I left for college and realized how much my parents were a part of my life.  Though they don’t have the same involvement with me as they used to, I try to get in as much time with them as possible.

One of the best examples that I can think of is the time that I spend with my father fishing.  He taught me at an early age the value and peacefulness that fishing can bring to one’s life and since that time, we have been fishing buddies.  Some of my best moments with him so far have been sitting in a boat on the lake talking.

Because of his love to fish, he also taught me how to buy OMC parts for the family boat and I even replaced the Stern Drive once.  Fishing has brought us closer together, and truth be told, I would have to say that I am closer to him than my mother.

So, it should come as no surprise that I am looking forward to going fishing with him this weekend.  It will be nice to spend some time with him doing something that we both love.
