Football season has officially started! Needless to say, I celebrated with some of my closest friends by gluing myself in front of a high definition television and indulging in brats and way too many cold beers. The down side to it all is that now I feel like I need some kind of disability insurance or something because I can not function normally today. OK, I’m going a little overboard there since I know that disability insurance companies don’t actually cover hangovers.

The FOX network seems to have the whole NFL thing cornered, but I’m not sure I like their new guy. Michael Strahan was a football great with the New York Giants, but his teeth are so bad that he probably needs dentist disability insurance. Maybe it is just that he is trying to find his niche with the other guys like Howie Long, but he just didn’t seem as natural as them. It was like he was trying to hard to be like everyone else and ended up just repeating the things that they would say.

Anyway, with week one under our belt I can comfortably say that there were not too many surprises. Sure, the Patriots may have lost their quarterback, Tom Brady, to an injury that puts him out of work (see disability insurance mentioned above), but people get hurt in this venue.
