Ruining a Diet on the Weekends

binge

Many people start diets and do fairly well with them throughout the week but then ruin their success on the weekends. Why is this? Perhaps it’s because most people are on the Monday-Friday schedule with work and they consider this to be the only time when it’s important to stick to a routine. If you want to do well on your diet then you need to be willing to maintain your routine throughout the weekend.

This is true of any diet that you may try to go on. You may like the Diet Cookie Diet or you may like the grapefruit diet. Whatever you’re using, you want to use it every day and not just on the days that suit your schedule best. Some diets are better than others because they are designed with some flexibility to them that you can utilize to your advantage on the weekends.

A great way to stick to your diet on the weekends is to devote a little bit of time each weekend to learning more about weight loss. If you read weight loss blogs or books about things like BMI and nutrition then you’re going to feel more motivated to stick to your weight loss goals. Doing this will be a new routine that you can implement and that routine will help you stay on track with your diet.

The best thing to do is to try and find a plan or program that you will want to stay on during the weekend. Convenience is one thing, but if a diet is cumbersome or if it is leaving you hungry all the time, it is going to fail.

My big problem didn’t used to be the weekend but Tuesday nights. I went to the bowling alley and played poker and always ate pretty much whatever I wanted because I figured it wouldn’t hurt me. Sometimes I would gain as much in a day as I would take off in a week.

I have one friend that always seems to pick Sunday as his day to cheat. He goes out with friends and just eats and drinks what he wants. Of course, it comes back to haunt him on Monday when he gets on the scale.

It depends on what you do on the weekends too as to whether you are really ruining your diet. I have one friend that eats what she wants on the weekends, but she is always running around on the weekend with three kids. She usually burns off anything that she eats.

If you have time for extra study, then that is great. Personally, I do not have a lot of free time on the weekend. I just try and make healthy decisions about what I eat and drink.
