As an empty nester, I was getting bored and lonely so my husband and I decided to get a puppy. We did a lot of research and found some really neat products to help make the transition easier for the little dog.  Like we did with our kids, we got some stair dog gates so that our puppy would not fall down the stairs.  It was funny, because this puppy would become like a new baby to us!  We also were able to find some discount dog crates.  We got these on advice from the breeder because it would help our puppy feel a little bit safer as she was getting used to our house.  I also got a sliding glass dog door.  This was especially useful so that she would be able to go in and out at will.  Having freedom but not to much is important to any young animal.

The day finally came and we got our new puppy.  She was the cutest thing I have ever seen and I cannot believe the day finally came.  As we drove home with her, we knew that we had made the right choice to add her to our family.
