How Much Do You Judge People?
By JRP in Society | 0 comments

I think that one New Year’s resolution we should all make is to judge people less in 2010. Even if you are a fairly non-judgmental person, you probably make more judgments than you ought to. It seems to be human nature to do this.
Try to track your judgments on others for an entire day. Common judgments to keep an eye out for include:
- Judgments about people’s appearances. It is all too common for us to have thoughts in our minds about what someone is wearing or how much they weigh.
- Judgments about how smart someone is. Imagine a woman who did an audiology online degree through an online medical school. What judgment did you just make? Some people will say she has to be smart to do that whereas others would pass judgment on attending an online school.
- Judgments about people’s relationships. Why is it that we have any opinion at all on how other people conduct their relationships with one another.
- Judgments about how people treat us. He didn’t call. She didn’t show up. He didn’t hold the door open for me. She didn’t put on any makeup before our date. What do these things mean? They might mean nothing but we judge them anyway.
The more that we judge others, the more we limit ourselves. Let’s free ourselves from judgment this year!
