Wedding of Lights

I went to the coolest wedding the other day.  It was a winter wedding that was held indoors in sort of a cavern-feeling place.  What I mean by that is that it had pillars and stone walls.  But what was neat was that they used rope light to decorate the place.  That was nothing, however, compared to the dress!

Her wedding dress was actually decorated with battery Christmas lights!  I’m not kidding!  And it wasn’t grotesque at all.  She didn’t look like Disney’s Main Street Electrical Parade or anything.  She just had a few little tiny lights the size of seed pearls sprinkled in the lace of her gown.  At first, you weren’t really sure if they just weren’t reflective sequins.  Now set that against the candle light coming from wall sconces and on the altar—and it was breath-taking!

Though it was set in a restaurant, the restaurant used to be a real little church.  Check it out if you’re ever in Castle Rock, Colorado.  It’s called Stone Church.  Rumor has it that the place is haunted, but that just added to the fun!

It was truly the neatest-looking wedding I’ve ever been to.  And the worst?  The one in a green church with green dresses.  It looked like we were in the land of Oz!
