I was standing next to my best friend looking for clothing, when she picked up a maternity skirt   from the maternity clothes section at the department store we were in. She told me soon she’d need to buy things like these. I do not think that what she said really registered in my mind for a few minutes, because I just stared at her and did not quite understand what she was saying. I guess I just thought she meant some day she’ll be pregnant and need them; little did I know she meant she needed them soon, as in a few months! After my lack of response she was quick to state her news. I was so happy for her and gave her a huge hug! I knew she and her husband had been trying, but had not been successful.

Even though it took me a few minutes to register her wonderful and incredible news about being pregnant, once I realized what she was saying I started jumping up and down with her in excitement. It will be such a big change in both of our lives in a way, and yet such a wonderful change as well. I just simply can not wait. I hope that I will get to take the baby to do all kinds of fun things in life.
