The Challenges of Fishing

Despite the unexpected expenses we encountered to start our first fly fishing trip, we were just about ready to go.
The tutorial from Jeb actually turned out to be a decent idea, seeing as neither of us actually knew what we were doing, although I still contend that it wasn’t worth $100 for an hour. All the same, though, the hick that gave us the lesson was a pretty good guy.
Sure, he was missing about half of his teeth and didn’t speak any form of English I’d ever encountered before and was decked out in a bevy of fly fishing apparel, including a bumper sticker on the seat of his overalls that read “Fly Fishing North GA-The Only Way,” but he did spend a lot of time teaching us to bait our hooks and had some great shine that he was kind enough to share with us and even leave a small bottle.
At the end, we asked him if he had any more advice that we wouldn’t find in our Georgia fly fishing guides, he had this little tidbit:
“I actually got the most important tip for you. Keep your cooler in the water to keep the beer extra cold, but you want to make sure you pack some extra weight in there so it don’t go floating’ away when you start to run low on beers. Happened to my daddy once when we were fishing. He was so mad, he was angry for a week.” You can’t BUY that kind of fishing tip.
Thanks Jeb.
