One of the coolest places that I’ve ever had the chance to travel to was the Columbia Ice Fields in Canada. I would never have thought to book a trip here myself but a friend wanted to take me there and I agreed to check it out. It turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

First of all these ice fields are located along a stretch of scenic highway that provides the most beautiful drive I’ve ever taken. It’s called the Icefields Parkway and it takes you past an amazing series of views that includes views of glaciers, lakes, waterfalls and an amazingly open sky. The icefields are located right on the boundary between Banff National Park and Jasper National Park so you can just imagine how beautiful it is here.

And once you get there, the experience is simply breathtaking. You can step out on to a glacier of ice that has been frozen there for hundreds of years. It’s snow like you’ve never seen snow before in your life (or at least I had never seen anything like it!) It’s a really magical experience and one that I’m glad to have had in my lifetime.
